The University of Maine at Machias Lady Clippers split the season series with out-of-conference foe Husson University Tuesday, October 22. Machias avenged a loss form back on September 4th by taking a competitive four-set series over the eagles (25-23,25-17,19-25,25-18). The Clippers played in front of a packed gym for their final home game of the season. Seniors Kyrstyn Ransom and Kate Richardson were honored before the game. On an emotional night, Heather Leonard paced the Machias offense. The junior had nine kills. Hailey Lacey had four as well. In the final home game of her career, Ransom had an impressive sixteen assists, as well as five service aces and twelve digs. For the visiting Eagles, Alexandra deHertogh had ten kills. Lindsay Chapman had seven kills and a match-high twenty digs, to go along with four blocks. Casey Lopes had 23 assists for Husson, while Libero Kara Graham had sixteen digs. The Clippers close out their regular season on October 30th against Maine Maritime Academy.
