UMM Battles EMCC for Playoff Birth

Machias, ME

The Lady Clippers took host to the EMCC Golden Eagles last night February 11, 2014. This was the last conference game for both teams, and there was a lot at stake! EMCC needed this win to get into the Elite 8 Playoffs and UMM needed this to capture the 6th seed in the playoffs.  The Lady Clippers started out the game with great energy and passing the ball well. UMM held a 26-19 halftime lead. The Clippers came out running and improving their team defense in the second half to take the game 53-42. Vanessa Patterson had a great game with 12 points 15 rebounds. Randi DeWitt chipped in with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Emma LeGallais provided great energy and leadership while gathering 12 points, 9 rebounds ,4 assists, and 8 steals for the Lady Clippers. Breanna Nicely provided great effort off the bench with 9 points 7 rebounds as well. Caroline Proctor and Danielle Wormell worked very hard together getting rebounds and numerous deflections. Meagan Cope chipped in with a career high 9 rebounds and provided amazing energy and heart on the defensive end.  Carolyn Bess for EMCC had a double-double with 11 points 15 rebounds. Kylee Fogg led the Golden Eagles with 16 points. The Lady Clippers will await the YSCC Conference Standings for the Elite 8 playoffs!!
