Machias, ME.- The University of Maine at Machias men's basketball team had an impressive 77-63 victory over the University of Maine at Presque Isle Wednesday night in the Reynolds Center. The Clippers played good defense early in the game which led to a 37-23 halftime lead. The Owls kept fighting back in the second half and made it a competitive game through out the second half.
Will Lewis had another quality performance for the Clippers finishing the game with 16 points and 10 assists. Hampton Mack led the team in scoring with 20 points while shooting a hot 8-10 from the field. Also reaching double figures for the Clippers were David Mendez 13 and Jeremy Tolbert 11. Zach Armstrong led the team in rebounds with 11.
The Owls were led by Patrick Manifold with 24 points and 18 rebounds.
The Clippers go on the road this weekend for back to back games against Hampshire College on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The Clippers will be back in the Reynolds Center next Wednesday for a home date with the University of Maine at Fort Kent. Tip for that game will be 7:30 pm.
