ASHLAND, Virginia -- Former University of Maine at Machias women’s basketball and volleyball standout Carroll LaHaye ’77 has captured her 500th win as head coach of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. In her 29th season leading the Yellow Jackets, LaHaye became just the 15th Division III women’s basketball coach to record 500 victories.

Men’s Basketball Signs Van Buren
The University of Maine at Machias Men's Basketball Coach Brac Brady announced today that Aaron Van Buren has signed a letter of intent with the Clippers. Van Buren is a 6'4 wing from Bradenton, Florida. Van Buren graduated from Elevation Academy in Sarasota, Florida in 2010 where he played for Coach Matthew Hiller. During his senior year he averaged 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game. 2010-11 was Van Buren's first year in college where he spent the year as a red-shirt at NCAA division two Pfeiffer University

Clippers Sign Higgins
The University of Maine at Machias men's basketball program announced this week that they have received a signed letter of intent from Floyd Higgins. Higgins, who graduated in 2010 from Freedom High School, averaged 13.7 points and 6.6 rebounds for the Florida High School. Higgins was coached by Bobby Rego while at Freedom where he effectively played in the front court with his athletic 6'5 frame.
