Coach Duncan has been a college basketball head coach for eleven seasons and is no stranger to turning programs around. In his first collegiate head coaching job he turned around a struggling Midway College (KY) program and made three national tournament appearances in four years. He then moved on to Catawba College (NC) where his teams averaged over twenty-one wins during a seven year tenure and advanced to the NCAA II tournament on two occasions while winning three conference titles. He has been named coach of the year at the NAIA and NCAA II  conference levels.
