Clipper Hall of Fame Inductees

The University of Maine at Machias today announced its 2017 class of inductees into the UMM Athletics Hall of Fame class . This year?s group includes graduates from two different decades, from the 1970?s through 2000. This year?s class includes two former athletes who, have been extremely successful both during their playing days and in the years after leaving UMM.

The induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 16 th , 2017 in the Reynolds Center Gymnasium at the University of Maine at Machias at 7:00pm.

Arnold A. Clark

Arnold Clark, a member of the Class of 1972, came to UMM from Milltown and enjoyed a standout basketball career. He was a 6?3 center who was a 4 year starter for the UMM Men?s basketball team. In his sophomore season the 6?3 center averaged 30 points and 18 rebounds per game. Arnold Clark continued his basketball career after graduation getting started at Calais High School where he coached the Varsity boys from 1984-1998, he then moved onto 16 years at Woodland Jr/Sr High School where he coached from 1999-2015; Clark then returned to Calais High School to coach the Varsity girls where he will be entering his second season.

Katherine Kulig

Katherine Kulig, a member of the Class of 2000, came to UMM from Ludlow, Massachusetts where she starred as a three-varsity sport athlete at Cathedral High School. Katherine enjoyed a standout career as a soccer player for UMM; in her freshman season she participated on club sanctioned soccer team. In her sophomore season the club transferred over to a NCAA III and NAIA II program and in the inaugural match Katherine scored the first goal in the history of UMM Women?s Soccer and the team went on to beat Husson 1-0. Katherine has been selected as All-Conference (sophomore, and junior), First Team in the MAC (sophomore), Second Team in the MAC (junior). After graduating Katherine continued to support the University as she spent two years as an Admissions Counselor for UMM. Today, Katherine is the Senior Program Manager, Analytics in the Research Space Management Group at Massachusetts General Hospital Research Institute.

To be eligible, former student-athletes who are nominated for consideration but be at least 5 years removed from their final year of collegiate competition. Coaches, administrators and staff must have served with distinction and be a minimum of five years removed from their employment with the University.
