Maine Maritime held off several runs by the Lady Clippers of Machias and took home a 70-56 decision Tuesday night. The mariners got off to a quick start and help a double figure advantage midway through the first half, but the home team rallied to pull even. A late first half surge gave the visitors a 31-23 half time lead.

The Lady Clippers struggled with foul trouble in the second half but managed to cut the lead several times before the Mariners pulled away for good. The home team was led by Jamyriah McPherson with 19 points while Sabree Rodriguez and Kayla Wood added 11 points each.

The Clippers return to action Saturday at 2 pm and Sunday at 6 pm at the Augusta Civic Center before breaking for Thanksgiving.
