(Machias, ME) Lainey Herring's goal in the first minute of the game for the University of Maine at Presque Isle proved to be the game winner on Saturday.
Both teams battled for the next 89 minutes but neither team was able to penetrate the other's defense. The Owl's outshot the Clippers 6-4. Machias goalkeeper Alicia Schmidt had two saves on the day and Taylor Ussery had two saves for the Owls. The Clippers fall to 6-8 on the season (4-5 in the Sunrise Athletic Conference). They travel to Unity tomorrow to face Unity College.
